Denver’s Only Drop-Capsule Waterslide Is Here and My Kids Are Already Obsessed

Water World just leveled up this summer, and honestly, so did my anxiety.
If your pre-teens have been begging for a serious thrill this summer, Water World in Federal Heights just delivered — and then some.
The new Summit Canyon area is now home to Aspen Falls, Denver’s only drop-capsule waterslide, and it is not for the faint of heart. I will be on the sidelines for this one!
Here’s the deal: riders step into a clear capsule, wait for a countdown, and then — surprise! — the floor literally drops out from under them. You then plunge down a 70-degree angle across more than 425 feet of slide.
Seventy degrees, people. That’s basically straight down.
My girls? Absolutely losing their minds with excitement. Me? Quietly Googling “is it normal for your heart to exit your body.”
The good news is Water World remains one of the best family destinations right here in our backyard on 88th Avenue in Federal Heights. New attractions like this make it worth every dollar of that season pass you bought in March.
Summer in Denver just got a whole lot more vertical.
