Colorado’s new ‘lemon law’ set to take effect on Aug. 7th

A new Colorado law that aims to better protect you the consumer who buy “lemon” cars is set to take effect this week. Senate Bill 24-192, which the Gov. signed earlier this year is set to take effect on Wednesday.
The bill offers better protections for you the car buyer who comes in contact with bad cars or local dealerships. Colorado historically had one of the weaker lemon laws in the country. Sop they have a new law that is much stronger for you the buyer. Here are some of the changes to your advantage.
1. More cars are covered.
2. Coverage period is extended….The new law covers cars for 2 years or 24,ooo miles whichever comers first.
3.More time t file a lemon law claim.
4. Number of repair attempts lessened.
5. Lemon Law buyback notification. This law requires a decal on the car and the title if it was bought back by the dealship as a lemon
