Aug 18, 2026, 12:51 PM

If you’re already dreaming about fresh powder, cozy Colorado mountain weekends and that first run of the season, you’re not alone.  Vail Resorts has announced its planned opening dates for the upcoming ski season, which means winter sports fans are officially one step closer to getting back on the slopes.

Here’s the current schedule:

  • Keystone Resort: As soon as possible in October
  • Breckenridge: Nov. 6
  • Vail Mountain: Nov. 13
  • Whistler Blackcomb, Park City Mountain, Heavenly and Northstar: Nov. 20
  • Beaver Creek and Crested Butte: Nov. 25
  • Kirkwood and Stevens Pass: Dec. 4

Of course, Mother Nature gets the final say. Opening dates are dependent on weather conditions, and Vail Resorts says more announcements are expected in the coming months. Let’s hope that Super El Nino brings the powder!    Read more about it HERE
