Denver Green School in Denver, Colorado, rallied to support cafeteria worker Rose Gianni after her home was damaged in two electrical fires, raising over $12-thousand through a crowdfund campaign.

Known for her dedication to the school community, Gianni expressed gratitude for the support, saying, “Thank you, thank you for everything.”

The effort to support her was spearheaded by Aleaha Harkins, a music teacher at the middle school, who was amazed by the overwhelming response. Harkins was inspired by Gianni’s close ties with both students and staff, and the success of the fundraiser has exceeded her expectations.

With the funds raised, Gianni will be able to make the needed repairs to her home and eventually move back in. Electricians have indicated that her home will need to be rewired, to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment. The home will also need a new furnace and repairs to the wall, but with the money raised and the continued support of her community, Gianni and her two cats should be able to return to their home soon.
