Well, this is not ideal.
Colorado’s offense has already been struggling, and now there is a report that the team may have accidentally left some important information behind in a very public place.
According to reports, a Colorado football playbook was allegedly found at a hotel bar by an opposing fan. The timing is not great for the Buffs, who do not exactly need to be handing opposing defenses any extra help right now. When an offense is already having trouble finding rhythm, the last thing you want is anything resembling a playbook floating around outside the locker room.
It is not clear how much information was included, who may have had access to it or whether it could actually impact game planning. Teams often adjust plays, signals and terminology throughout the season, especially if there is any concern that information has been exposed.
Still, it is the kind of story fans will absolutely run with — especially when a team is already dealing with offensive woes.
For Colorado, the focus now is likely on tightening things up both on the field and, apparently, at the bar.
Because losing yards is one thing. Losing the playbook next to someone’s margarita? That is a whole different level of stress.
