Bennifer’s bright flame fizzles: JLo files for divorce from Ben Affleck after 2 years.
Jennifer Lopez has officially initiated divorce proceedings from Ben Affleck, following two years of marriage, according to TMZ, the first to break the story. They reported that Lopez filed the paperwork on her own, without legal representation.
Coincidentally, Tuesday marks the second anniversary of their extravagant wedding ceremony in Georgia, which took place after their Las Vegas elopement in July 2022. In her filing, Lopez indicated that the date of separation is April 26, 2024. She did not clarify whether a prenuptial agreement exists, although sources suggest that there is none.

Additionally, Lopez has waived her right to spousal support and requested that the court deny any such support to Affleck as well. At 55, Lopez and 52-year-old Affleck first ignited breakup rumors in May 2024, following reports of their attendance at couples therapy. While neither party has publicly commented on the situation, Affleck was seen without his wedding ring shortly thereafter, hinting at underlying issues.
Furthermore, TMZ reported that Affleck has moved out of their Beverly Hills mansion and has been residing in a home in Brentwood, approximately 30 minutes away.
