Brian Wilson, The Beach Boys co-founder and frontman, dead at 82

Brian Wilson, co-founder and primary songwriter of the Beach Boys, has passed away at the age of 82 after living with a neurocognitive disorder.

Wilson, known for pioneering the studio-as-instrument approach in music, formed The Beach Boys in the early 1960s with his brothers and friends. He played a key role in the band’s early success with hits like “Surfin’ U.S.A.” and later focused on producing music for other artists.

Wilson’s legacy includes the iconic album “Pet Sounds” and the revival of the shelved project “Smile” in the 2000s. His contributions to music earned him two Grammy awards and an induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
