All-women Colorado State Patrol team makes history at Broncos game

I love a good Colorado history moment, and this one is pretty special.    Colorado State Patrol troopers often escort NFL teams to Empower Field at Mile High on game nights. But Friday marked a first for the agency: The escort team was made up entirely of women.    The moment comes 50 years after women were first allowed into Colorado’s police academy. Women joined the uniformed ranks of the Colorado State Patrol in 1976, and the first three women were hired to attend the CSP Academy the following year.    Since then, women have continued to rise through the agency, serving as sergeants, captains, majors and more.

On Friday, those trailblazers were honored in a big way as an all-women CSP team escorted the Minnesota Vikings to Empower Field for their game against the Denver Broncos.  A powerful full-circle moment under the Colorado lights!
