Gatorade Recall: More Than 122,000 Cases Pulled Over Undeclared Food Dyes
Oct 5, 2026, 10:38 AM
PepsiCo is recalling more than 122,000 cases of Gatorade because some 28-ounce bottles may contain food dyes that were not listed on the label.
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the affected products contain Yellow No. 5 and/or Yellow No. 6 but did not include those ingredients on the packaging.
The recall impacts products distributed in several states, including Texas. The FDA classified it as a Class II recall, which means the product could cause temporary or medically reversible health effects, though serious health consequences are considered unlikely.
For most people, this may not be a major issue, but it matters for anyone with sensitivities or allergies to certain dyes. Because apparently even checking a drink label now requires investigative journalism. Cool.
Consumers are encouraged to check the FDA’s list of recalled lot numbers before drinking the affected Gatorade.
If you have one of the recalled bottles, do not consume it. Check the lot information and follow any return or disposal instructions from the company or retailer.
• Affected Products: 28-ounce bottles only.
• Flavors Involved:
• Gatorade Lemon Lime
• Gatorade Lemon Lime Zero
• Gatorade Orange
• Gatorade Orange Zero
