Denver’s watering ban goes into effect Thursday

As parts of Colorado gets ready for much welcomed rain, Denver gets ready for their watering ban to go into effect October 1st.

A Stage 1 Watering bang was enacted by the Denver Board of Water Commissioners to begin on Thursday following a record setting drought in Colorado this Summer.

Beginning October 1st, some of the water restrictions in place from Denverwater.org will be:

• Trees, shrubs and perennials can only be watered with ands held hose with automatic shutoff nozzle or low-volume non-spray irrigation.
• Annuals and vegetables may not be watered by spray irrigation but may be watered with hand held hose until the first freeze.
• Car washing of personal vehicles can only be done with a bucket or hand held hose other than at commercial car washes
• Power washing may not occur except for immediate health or safety reasons
• Restaurants may only serve water upon request.
