Kroger pulls Red Bull from King Soopers and City Market shelves in Colorado

Colorado shoppers looking for Red Bull at King Soopers or City Market are going to need a backup plan — or, you know, sleep. Wild concept.

Kroger, the parent company of King Soopers and City Market, has pulled Red Bull products from all of its stores nationwide, according to company officials who spoke with the Cincinnati Enquirer, part of the USA TODAY Network. The last Red Bull products were sold in August, and coolers and displays were removed from stores as of Aug. 31.

Kroger did not say why it stopped selling the Austria-based energy drink brand. The company continues to sell other energy drinks.

Kroger has not announced a date for Red Bull’s return. Red Bull has also not announced a new deal with the retailer.

For now, that means Red Bull fans in Colorado will have to look elsewhere to “get their wings,” including convenience stores, other grocery chains or wherever else people go when coffee has officially failed them.
