Nordstrom Rack Opening Two New Stores in Colorado

Nordstrom Rack is adding two more Colorado stores, because apparently we were all one discounted designer jacket away from inner peace.

The off-price retail division of Nordstrom Inc. announced new locations planned for Dillon and Lakewood, expanding the company’s already sizable footprint in the state. The additions will bring more shopping options to both the Denver metro area and Summit County, where residents and visitors already know how to spend money after saying they’re “just browsing.”

Nordstrom Rack coming to Dillon Ridge Marketplace

One of the new stores will open at Dillon Ridge Marketplace in Dillon, a shopping center located off U.S. 6 and Dillon Ridge Road.

The 24,000-square-foot Nordstrom Rack will join a tenant lineup that includes REI, City Market and Petco. The center is owned and managed by Miller United Real Estate.

“We’re excited to welcome Nordstrom Rack to Dillon Ridge Marketplace as part of our continued commitment to the Summit County and resort communities,” said Dean Insalaco, vice president of leasing at Miller United. “We took a deliberate approach to leasing this space and we’re confident Nordstrom Rack is the right long-term fit for the center. This addition rounds out a tenant mix that offers quality brands and strong value, further enhancing the shopping experience for both residents and visitors.”

Translation: Summit County shoppers are getting another place to hunt for deals before or after hitting the mountains, stocking up on groceries, buying dog food or pretending they only walked into REI for socks.

Lakewood also getting a new Nordstrom Rack

The second new Colorado location will open in Lakewood at Denver West Village, a shopping center located off Interstate 70 and 6th Avenue West.

That store also will be 24,000 square feet and will join existing retailers including World Market and Barnes & Noble. Denver West Village is owned and managed by Simon Property Group.

“As Denver’s premier shopping destination, one of our top priorities is to provide an exceptional shopping experience for residents and visitors alike,” said Kimra Perkins, general manager of Denver West Village. “The exciting addition of Nordstrom Rack at our center further elevates our expansive portfolio of offerings, providing our shoppers an even more diverse and rewarding retail experience.”

The Lakewood location gives west metro shoppers another Nordstrom Rack option without having to make a full pilgrimage across town, which, depending on traffic, can feel like a personal attack.

What Nordstrom Rack offers

Nordstrom Rack is Nordstrom’s off-price retail division, offering shoppers up to 70% off apparel, accessories, beauty products, home decor and shoes from many of the brands sold at Nordstrom stores.

The stores also offer services including online order pickup for Nordstrom.com and NordstromRack.com, easy returns and alterations at select locations.

Nordstrom Rack has become an important part of the company’s business, serving as the largest source of new customers to Nordstrom. Basically, it’s the gateway store: You go in for a discounted pair of shoes and suddenly you’re “just checking” what’s new at the full-line Nordstrom.

Nordstrom’s Colorado footprint keeps growing

The two new stores will expand Nordstrom’s physical presence and economic impact in Colorado.

The company currently operates two Nordstrom stores and nine Nordstrom Rack locations across the state, generating more than 1,000 jobs statewide. Once the Dillon and Lakewood stores open, Colorado will have even more places for shoppers to find discounted name-brand fashion, accessories and home goods.

Because if there is one thing Colorado needed between hiking, skiing, brunching and sitting on I-70, it was more convenient access to marked-down boots.
