Spencer’s reportedly close to buying Hot Topic for $350 million

Spencer’s is reportedly close to buying Hot Topic for $350 million — and yes, your tween is already devastated by the news, but your millennial heart is soaring!

According to reports, Spencer’s — the mall staple known for gag gifts and things you definitely don’t want your kids seeing — is in talks to acquire Hot Topic, the beloved haven of band merch, oversized hoodies, and every Stranger Things item ever made.

The deal, valued at around $350 million, would combine two of the mall’s most…spirited retailers under one roof.

For moms of pre-teens everywhere: don’t panic. Hot Topic stores are expected to keep operating as usual, so your daughter can still spend her entire birthday money on a single Olivia Rodrigo hoodie.

No official closing date has been announced yet.
