Colorado Rapids to get a brand refresh, does that include new name?

Apr 9, 2026, 9:52 AM

The Colorado Rapids are going to be refreshing some of their brand, including their logo, but fortunately for longtime fans that will not include a new name.

In a statement posted on the Rapids website, they discuss how their fan focused “One Club, One Legacy” campaign has accepted input for fans over the last year and based on the 5,000+ fans feedback they have decided to utilize that info as they approach their 30th anniversary.

Some of the notes they highlighted that they heard include:

  • 90% of fans identify with the name “Colorado Rapids”
  • 55% are open to updating the crest
  • A clear preference to reimagine the essence of who they are (but not reinvent)

And based on that info, some of the notes they mentioned they will use to refine the brand will include:

  • Modernizing the current crest and colors (the logo)
  • Improve the fan and matchday experience for fans)

In addition to not changing the name, they plan on keeping the color burgundy as part of their identity.
