‘Good Morning America’ to broadcast live from Colorado on April 10th, and you’re invited but there’s a catch

Apr 9, 2026, 9:04 AM

Being a part of an iconic TV show like Good Morning America would be awesome, but are you willing to drive more than 14,000 feet up a mountain to do it?

The ABC show will broadcast a live shot from the 14,115-foot summit of Pikes Peak on Friday, and Coloradans are invited to appear in the background.

The broadcast is part of “GMA’s” yearlong “America the Beautiful, 50 States in 50 Weeks” series, which is visiting every state in the order it joined the Union in the lead-up to the nation’s 250th anniversary on July 4.

Colorado is 38th in the series, having become a state on Aug. 1, 1876. The visit also coincides with the 150th anniversary of Colorado’s admission to the Union.

Participants who want to appear in the live shot must register on the Pikes Peak website. There is no charge.

The broadcast on the mountain will happen weather permitting. If conditions do not allow it, the live shot will be relocated. Registrants are encouraged to check the weather report for Colorado Springs on Thursday evening.

More information and registration are available on the Pikes Peak website.
