Denver street sweeping starts Tuesday

Apr 1, 2025, 9:20 AM | Updated: 2:07 pm

It’s back! Street sweeping starts in Denver, and some things you may need to know so you don’t get busted.

Cars that aren’t moved on their monthly sweeping date will get a $50 ticket. Denver’s enforcement period runs between April and November.

Denver’s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure reminded residents that the parking restrictions that support the program will be enforced to keep sweeping operations effective.

The removal of debris prevents storm sewer inlets from getting clogged. DOTI also reminded people not to sweep leaves into the street.

In 2024, Denver street sweeping crews swept 113,846 lane miles — collecting 46,478 cubic yards of dirt and debris. That’s enough dirt and debris to fill 14 Olympic-size swimming pools or fill a football field more than 23 feet high with dirt.

Signs are posted letting residents know when street sweeping takes place but you can sign up for email or text reminders at denvergov.org/online-services-hub.
