For the 16th year, RTD will provide zero-fare rides for New Year’s Eve. Whether you plan on bringing in the new year at home, out on the town or with friends and family, RTD is partnering with Molson Coors to make sure you and your loved ones have a safe ride home.
From 7 p.m. on December 31 to 7 a.m. on January 1, all RTD bus and rail routes, Access-a-ride and FlexRide services will be free. Fare collection will resume at 7 a.m. on New Year’s Day. According to RTD, Molson Coors has been offering free rides since 1988 and has worked with local mass transit systems all across the U.S. to ensure that over 8 million people have a free and safe way to get home.
Since fares are free, be sure to use the RTD’s Next Ride planning tool; to see departure times and adjusted routes. Due to the holiday, there will be some changes to a few lines. RTD said the city of Denver is hosting two firework shows on the 16th Street Mall at 9 p.m. and midnight starting at 8 p.m. The D and H lines will not operate north of the Theatre District and Convention Center station, and service on the L line will be suspended.
