Four of us in Colorado are ‘double digit’ billionaires

Forbes magazine just released the  Forbes 400 wealthiest Americans list and four Coloradans are members of the “double digit” billionaires club.

For the record, I’m not on this list and I’m guessing you’re not either.

  • Phillip Anschutz ($16.9 billion) owns The Anschutz Corporation and is the name behind many entertainment and sports outlets that you’re familiar with. He owns AEG Presents and AXS Ticketing, as well as, the Los Angeles Kings (NHL), the Los Angeles Galaxy (MLS) in addition to being a founding investor in the soccer league, Crypto.com Arena in LA (formerly Staples Center), the O2 Arena in London, the Broadmoor Resort in Colorado Springs and many more. The multi-billionaire also has held significant stakes in Union Pacific Railroad and Regal Entertainment Group.
  • John Malone ($10.7 billion), is the Chaiman of the board of Liberty Media has three divisions, reflecting its ownership stakes in Formula One Group, Sirius XM/Pandora, and Live Nation Entertainment.Malone is also ranked as the second largest private landowner in the United States, possessing more than twice the size of Rhode Island.
  • Mark Stevens ($8.3 billion) lives in Steamboat Springs and owns S-Cubed Capital but was a partner at Sequoia Capital in Silicon Valley when they invested is startups like Google, PayPal and LinkedIn. Stevens is also an investor in the Golden State Warriors.
  • Pat Stryker ($3.9 billion) is the only woman on this list and is a philanthropist and founder of Bohemian Foundation which supports music, community, global and civic programs. She is the heir to the Stryker Corporation, which her grandfather founded, which sold medical equipment. She has given over $225 million to charity over her lifetime.
