First wolves, now wolverines, are coming to Colorado

The Colorado wildlife officials now have to reintroduce wolverines to Colorado. Wolverines were listed as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act in 2023. The CPW said that conflicts between wolverines and livestock are extremely rare. This new bill will provide compensation to owners of livestock for any losses caused by wolverines.
Wolverines are a native species to Colorado, and their range once spanned down the Sierra Nevada in California and the Rocky Mountains here in Colorado. Wolverines are primarily scavengers and opportunistic feeders that eat a variety of foods like small rodents, rabbits, ground squirrels, birds and eggs.
The only person I know who is excited about wolverines coming back to Colorado is my granddaughter, who goes to college at the University of Michigan — better known as the Wolverines!
