Why they want to ban Lunchables from school lunchrooms

Apr 10, 2024, 9:06 AM | Updated: 4:04 pm

Consumer Reports says Lunchables need to be removed from school lunchrooms because they contain elevated levels of lead, sodium, and harmful chemicals. CR says the high sodium levels exceed a child’s daily limit.

They also says Lunchables contain cadmium, a chemical linked to kidney, skeletal and respiratory issues. The compound is classified as a human carcinogen. Kraft Heinz defended Lunchables saying they are a good source of protein because of the meat and cheeses they contain.

A petition, with 12,000 signatures, is calling for the USDA to remove Lunchables

Not sure how I feel about this. My kids LOVE them and ask for them all the time. With everything being so expensive it is a quick and cheap way to do lunch on the go. Ugh!
