The World’s Ugliest Dog contest is over and congratulations to Wild Thang — an 8-year-old Pekingese who won $5,000 for his stellar looks. This was Wild Thang’s fifth attempt at the title and first win.

The annual World’s Ugliest Dog contest was held at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in Petaluma, California. Wild Thang’s owners said he contracted a virus as a puppy that left him with permanent damage. The result, his teeth never developed, so his tongue flops out.

Most of the dogs in the competition are rescues, and the competition helps to raise money for animals.
