Check back every Wednesday for our next bundle of furry joy from
MaxFund that needs a loving home.
Meet our furry friends…
🌲Hello, all! I go by the name of Jax and I’m a loyal, sweet, and intelligent boy that weighs 65lbs!
🌲I was born November 2012 and oh boy, oh boy, I would love to spend my birthday in a fur-ever home! I arrived at the MaxFund as a relinquishment and was surrendered due to having some anxiety in the home I lived in. I used to live in a small apartment with a toddler near a busy intersection which made me develop bad separation and general anxiety. I did better visiting the larger, quieter homes of family members so it’s safe to say that I would do best in that type of environment where I can have a chill day with no worries or stress.
🌲I am super snuggly and cuddly. I enjoy a couple of long walks outside, then napping the rest of the day. I’m a tidy and clean boy that doesn’t shed much. I’m a smart housebroken fella that knows “sit”, “stay”, “down”, “shake”, and “come” but can be stubborn at times and don’t care to listen when I don’t have to. With some proper training and a committed owner, I know I would thrive!
🌲My favorite thing in the world is going on car rides! I am a family “man” that will take a bit to warm up to strangers coming into the home but once I do, I will love unconditionally! I would do better in a home where children in the home are at a more mature age and know not to tug on my ears or tail. The vets here at the MaxFund had no trouble with me at all and think that I was a very well behaved boy!
🌲Do keep in mind that my anxiety may show during thunderstorms and fireworks and will just need a safe space where I can do my best to relax and be by myself. If you’d love to learn more about me and see how well of a fit we’d make, come on by to see me in person! You won’t regret it! Come meet me at the shelter located at 720 W. 10th Ave. Denver CO 80204 (we are closed on Tuesdays) or visit MaxFund.org to find out more.
Greetings! I’m Desdemona. I am a gorgeous, independent and spirited lady just like the famous Shakespearean heroine who shares my name. My tragedy is that the children in my family became allergic to me, so after 15 years with them, I find myself in a shelter. As you can imagine, this has made me sad, though the nice people here try hard to make me comfortable. I do enjoy treats and attention, but the noisy and hectic environment has been tough on me. I am now in a quieter room, and my outlook has really improved. But, it’s not the same as a home. 🌸
To look at me, you’d never guess I’m 16 years old. But, I’m one of the oldest cats in the shelter, and the staff and volunteers don’t want me to spend the rest of my life here. Maybe, you’re a senior, too, and wouldn’t mind sharing your home with me. I would be so grateful. If you’re concerned about adopting a senior pet, maybe you’ll consider fostering me. You may be afraid to get attached to a 16 year old cat, but wouldn’t it be sadder if I never left the shelter? I promise you, I’m still young at heart, and I’d make a good companion. I hope you’ll come to meet me. It takes me awhile to warm up to people, so if I don’t make a good first impression, please don’t judge me. It’s hard to be myself here. 🌸
Come meet me at the shelter located at 720 W. 10th Ave. Denver CO 80204 (we are closed on Tuesdays) or visit MaxFund.org to find out more.
Hello, all! My name is Beaudine, and I am a one-year-old Golden/Labrador Retriever mix. I have a gorgeous, red coat that is sure to impress.
I found my way to MaxFund due to being surrendered since my previous could no longer care for me.
I have been adjusting to life in the shelter well but would love a fur ever home so much better! I am very friendly and sweet, but I do have some special needs. I was born with bilateral elbow dysplasia which means that I have problems with the joints in both of my elbows. My previous owner mentioned that I was good with other small and large dogs, so make sure to bring in any fur babies you have to make sure we get along! Because of my age, energy and condition, it would be better for me to go to a home without children or with older children (10 years+.) Come meet me at the shelter located at 720 W. 10th Ave. Denver CO 80204 (we are closed on Tuesdays) or visit MaxFund.org to find out more.
Hello friends! I am Nova, a sassy tortie girl, born in 2015. 🎃
My sister, Meow, and I came to MaxFund when our owner passed away. My sister adjusted to life here at the shelter much better than I did, and she was adopted. I’m very happy for her, but I’d like to find a forever home, too. 🎃
I have been through a lot in my young life, but losing my owner and ending up in a shelter was almost too much for me. Eventually I stopped eating (animals grieve, too) and everyone here thought they were going to lose me, but I am a warrior princess (that’s how my favorite volunteer describes me!) and I bounced back, and I’m hoping to find a new home more than ever. Because my need to be out of the shelter is so great, I am also eligible to be fostered. 🎃
I love being with people. I am sweet and affectionate, and will stay in your lap as long as you’ll let me. I am learning how to be more polite and patient, so I can be a better companion to you. The proximity to so many cats has been stressful, so I prefer a home where I am the only cat, or a home with an older mellow cat might work. I’d like a high perch, and a sunny window would be heavenly. But, what I want most of all is a person to love. 🎃
Need some ideas for a Halloween costume? You’re in luck! Our adoptable MaxFund dogs will be modeling festive frocks the entire month of October.🧡
Today, 7 year old mixed breed Maisie models a flirty Fairy Princess costume. But she can’t decide, blue or pink?! What do you think? Let us know in the comments below, 👇🏼 and come meet amazing Maisie at the MaxFund today! Come meet me at the shelter located at 720 W. 10th Ave. Denver CO 80204 (we are closed on Tuesdays) or visit MaxFund.org to find out more.
Hi there! My name is Riot, and I’m an adorable tuxedo cat, born in 2018.
Did you know that a tuxedo cat is the only cat to make it to the top of Mt. Everest? And the richest cat in the world is a tuxedo cat who inherited 6.3 million dollars. Shakespeare, Beethoven, and Sir Isaac Newton owned “tuxies”. I guess I’m in good company.
I may not be famous, but with a name like Riot, you know life with me will be interesting. I am a fun loving boy, who unfortunately lives in a cage right now. I can’t wait for the time each day I am let out to play! The shelter is no place for a free spirit like me! I try to wait patiently for someone to pay attention to me, but I have been known to voice my objection to being ignored. The people here will tell you that in addition to being an adorable young scamp, I am also a sweet, loving guy.
So, if you are looking for a new best friend who will entertain you with feline antics, but also be a couch buddy during quiet times, I might just be your
boy! Come on by and visit me to get to know me better! You will not regret it! Come meet me at the shelter located at 720 W. 10th Ave. Denver CO 80204 (we are closed on Tuesdays) or visit MaxFund.org to find out more.
Did you know October is DOGtober, and October 1st is National Black Dog Day?!
Hello! The name’s Eddy, pleasure to meet you! I’m a 72 lbs., 3-year-old, Labrador that came all the way from New Mexico. The shelter I used to live at was not a no-kill shelter like MaxFund and my time was running out over there. I am so happy to get a second chance that I can’t help but smile! I am a fun pup that could be the right adventure buddy for you. I’m as smart as I am playful – the perfect combo! Because I was brought in as a transfer and only came in with medical and vaccine records, it’s unknown how I do with cats, children, car rides, being left alone, etc. If you have others living in the home, please bring ’em in to see how we all get along! This includes dogs! If you have a kitty cat, the staff here can arrange for me to have a cat test and decide whether or not I would do well sharing a home with one. Must I say more? I bet I’ve already won you over by how handsome I look in my picture! Come on by and visit me to get to know me better! You will not regret it! Come meet me at the shelter located at 720 W. 10th Ave. Denver CO 80204 (we are closed on Tuesdays) or visit MaxFund.org to find out more.
Hello, friend! My name is Elbie, and I’m a male classic tabby, born in 2013.
I came to be at MaxFund when the couple I lived with got divorced. I had only been with them for a few months. They adopted me from another shelter, so my life before that is a bit of a mystery. But, that’s okay because I’m only interested in my future.
I’m a “classic” tabby because in addition to the M on my forehead, I have a swirl pattern on my sides. The nice people here think I’m pretty handsome. I also have a pleasant, laid back personality. Unfortunately, because I’m content to sit on a shelf and watch the world go by, I don’t get noticed. That’s why I’m putting out this invitation to come and meet me, and see if we have a connection. You’ll find me to be a sweet and gentle soul.
My dream home would be one where I play an important role in your family. I don’t wish to be dispensable. I will be a loyal companion. A soft bed and a window would be nice, too. Come meet me at the shelter located at 720 W. 10th Ave. Denver CO 80204 (we are closed on Tuesdays) or visit MaxFund.org to find out more.
Hi everybody! I’m a young pup full of adventure that hopes you’ll join him in an awesome companionship! My name’s Brady and I’m a 2-year-old, athletic, Shepherd mix that weighs 55-60lbs.
I came to the MaxFund Adoption Center as a transfer from another shelter in Pueblo. I found myself at the Pueblo shelter as a stray where I had no luck being reunited with my owner. But not to worry! I’m a very happy boy that’s more than ready for a forever person!
I’m a high energy boy that enjoys taking my energy out with some playtime and running around in the courtyards. Because of my high energy and size, it would make me the happiest to go to a home that has a backyard.
Based on how I have been at the shelter, I would do best as only pet in the home and I’ll likely never be a candidate for the dog parks – but that is okay, because I am the perfect hiking buddy! I am also a pup that gets very attached to my favorite person in the home, but MaxFund can help you give some tips to help me be successful.
Think we’ll make a good match? Then come on in with your family! I would love to say hello to everybody! Come meet me at the shelter located at 720 W. 10th Ave. Denver CO 80204 (we are closed on Tuesdays) or visit MaxFund.org to find out more.
Hello, my friends! My name is Judy, and I’m a lovely buff and white girl, born in 2009.
I was living a wonderful life, until my human lost our home. That’s how I came to be at MaxFund. I had lived with them my whole life, and now I’m in a shelter. But, I have a good attitude, and I know my life will get better.
The first thing you’ll notice about me is that I’m a friendly gal, and I’m not shy about asking for your attention. You might also notice that I’m a tad full figured, but I like to think of myself as extra fluffy. It just means there’s more of me to love.
Living with so many cats has been an adjustment for me. I have to admit I do like my personal space, but who doesn’t? Of course, I’ll totally invade your personal space, because that’s what we cats do! Anyway, I’m very playful, love treats, and I have a lot of love to give! I hope you’ll come to meet me soon! Come meet me at the shelter located at 720 W. 10th Ave. Denver CO 80204 (we are closed on Tuesdays) or visit MaxFund.org to find out more.
🖤Hello! My name is Bruno and I am a 7 year old husky mix that weighs around 95 pounds. I was dropped off by my family at MaxFund before they opened so they weren’t able to tell them how amazing I was, but no worries I made sure to tell them myself! 🖤I’m not sure if I’ve met any other pooch friends yet but I’d be happy to meet any potential fur siblings in the home to see if we can coincide. In fact, I would need to meet any other pooches in the home before being adopted. I’m a big fan of the company of my humans though and love attention! It could be from a little human or a big human you guys are all amazing to me! I’m always sure to greet them with a big smile! 🖤If you really want to know the key to my heart, though, give me a good belly rub! Those are my absolute favorite. 🖤I have also been told I am the smartest dog here. Ssshhh! Don’t let the other dogs know that; I know how to sit, shake and down. I am also a really good walker! Love to walk around the neighborhood with all my volunteer friends and I am always very careful not to pull them. 🖤Oh! I am also potty trained! See, very smart boy! 🖤Lastly I do have Cushing’s disease, So I am on medication for that. Because of the medication I am available for foster as well. Are you ready to meet me? I promise you will fall in love! Come meet me at the shelter located at 720 W. 10th Ave. Denver CO 80204 (we are closed on Tuesdays) or MaxFund.org to see more
My sister, Wheaties, and I were originally adopted from MaxFund as kittens back in 2011, but we were returned in March of 2019 because of some unfortunate circumstances. It was difficult for me to come back here. At first, all I wanted to do was hide. My sister is the outgoing one. But, over time I have come around. I recently received a dental from the nice medical staff here, and I am feeling so much better. 💛 As happens in a shelter environment, my sister and I spent quite a bit of time apart, and staff and volunteers have determined that we can be adopted separately. It’s hard to find adopters wanting two cats at once, and even though someone put in an application for us a few months ago, it fell through. We’ve been here a long time, and just want to find a loving home. 💛 Though the volunteers know I am a sweet guy, I am not myself here in the shelter. It seems there are always friendlier, younger, and more noticeable cats than me, so I tend to get overlooked. I once heard someone say tabbies are boring, which I don’t understand. We look the closest to cats in the wild, so how could we be boring? 💛Anyway, I love human attention—gentle pets and soft voices, and of course, an occasional treat is nice. I hope you’ll come to meet me! And, if I’m not your cup of tea, I hope you’ll consider my sister, Wheaties. She’s black and white, and very pretty. 💛 Come meet me at the shelter located at 720 W. 10th Ave. Denver CO 80204 (we are closed on Tuesdays) or MaxFund.org to see more
🎾Hello, folks! My name is Devlin and I’m a medium, mixed breed, 11-month-old, male pup. I’m a strong little dude that just finished heartworm treatment! How awesome is that? 🎾I was transferred over from a shelter in Texas where I was almost not given the opportunity to find a forever home. I’m so very happy that I received a second chance to find a family for me here in colorful Colorado. 🎾I’m a healthy and energetic pup that looooves toys. I love them so much that I sometimes accidentally munch on them too hard and eat pieces of them. I’ll need to go to a home where my human is patient with me as I learn what’s wrong and right. I’m a super smart guy and promise to try my very best on learning the tricks and commands you show me. I am already house trained so that’s one thing to check off your list! 🎾I have been so patient with restricted exercise during my heart worm treatment and am so excited to finally enjoy playtime and long walks. We even have a trainer here that is teaching me a few tricks! 🎾I hope you’ll come meet me soon and help me make up for lost playtime! Hey there! I’m Spaz, and I’m a tabby and white boy with green eyes, born in 2007. 💜 I had a home, but my owners decided to relinquish me. So, here I am, at twelve years of age, in a shelter. At least I’m at MaxFund, and they won’t give up until I’ve found a home. For that reason, I consider myself a lucky fellow. 💜 I’m not sure you can tell by my photos, but I’m an extra hefty guy. I should definitely shed a few pounds, but it’s not easy in this environment. I’m hoping not only for a loving home, but maybe a healthy home, too. If you come to meet me, you’ll also discover that I am a sweet and lovable cat. I love attention, but I’m not pushy about asking for it. 💜Technically, I’m a senior, but did you know the oldest cat on record lived to be 38? I can’t promise you I have that many years ahead of me, but I certainly plan on living many more years with you. 💜 Come meet me at the shelter located at 720 W. 10th Ave. Denver CO 80204 (we are closed on Tuesdays) or MaxFund.org to see more
☀️What’s happening? I’m Django and I’m a 6-year-old and 68 pound, Rhodesian Ridgeback mix that was surrendered to the MaxFund. I was brought in due to my past owner not being able to care for me any longer because I am on medication for Addison’s disease.☀️Addison’s disease concerns the hormones and I am on an injectable medication that is given to me once a month. If you would like more info on the exact medication, please feel free to contact the front desk with any question you may have (at 303-595-4917).☀️Just about anyone that has gotten to know me can tell you how great of a boy I am! I enjoy telling the humans here just how much I love them by slobbering them with kisses and giving them all the cuddles they ask for. They will even tell you how well behaved I am ☀️A very kind volunteer took me to their home for a sleepover and on the drive there I stayed laying down the whole time. I loved getting comfy and cuddling all over her house! I do great at meeting new people and can be a very laid back pup. ☀️I can be energetic too when it comes to playtime. I love splashing around in the doggie pool here at MaxFund! ☀️I’m crate trained AND potty trained and do great with children (and cats!). Don’t I sound like an amazing boy? Please come on by and see me in person! I know you’ll fall in love! I am available for FOSTER or ADOPTION, so I hope to see you soon! Come meet me at the shelter located at 720 W. 10th Ave. Denver CO 80204 (we are closed on Tuesdays) or MaxFund.org to see more
My friend, Eddie, and I came to MaxFund when our owner became ill and couldn’t care for us. We were lucky enough to get adopted quickly, but our new owner turned out to be allergic to cats—so, here we are again. Now, don’t get me wrong, I like Eddie, but we don’t need to be adopted together. 💛 The first thing you might notice about me is I’m missing a back foot. It’s no big deal, because I was born this way. In fact, I don’t really let anything bother me. Maybe you can tell by my photos that I’m pretty laid back. But, that doesn’t mean I don’t love attention and affection. The staff and volunteers will tell you that I’m a very loving guy. 💛 I am ready to get settled in my forever home. I will be the best companion I know how to be, if you’ll just give me a chance! Come meet me at the shelter located at 720 W. 10th Ave. Denver CO 80204 (we are closed on Tuesdays) or MaxFund.org to see more
🌻Hiya! I hope you’re looking for a pup to bring you lots of joy! I have one contagious smile that will have you falling in love with me! 🌻I’m Moses and I’m 5-year-old, energetic, 50lb boy that is on the lookout for his forever home. I was found as a stray, but volunteers have spent lots of time with me and can tell you what they’ve learned about me thus far. 🌻I’m a very strong fella that would be a great addition to an athletic family/person. Because of my size and energy, I would do better in a home that has a yard. 🌻So far, I’ve been showing signs that I am potty trained. I get taken out for potty breaks frequently and do my best in holding it till I’m outside. 🌻There are still some things that the staff does not know about me. Like how I do with other animals and children. 🌻Please feel free to come on in with your human family and four-legged family members too to see how we all get along! I’m here at the MaxFund and cannot wait to see some new faces! Come meet me at the shelter located at 720 W. 10th Ave. Denver CO 80204 (we are closed on Tuesdays) or MaxFund.org to see more
Hi there! My name is Felix and I’m a sweet gray and white boy, born in 2012. I was brought to MaxFund after my previous family noticed that I wasn’t too fond of the dogs in the house. I never expected to wind up in a shelter, but I’m trying to make the best of it. If you are looking for one of those long and lanky cats, I may not be your guy. You see, I really love to eat, and over the years I have become a cat of considerable size. For health reasons, I should probably lose a few pounds, but that’s hard to do here. I need room to run and play, and a regular feeding schedule. It’s safe to say that I wouldn’t be comfortable sharing my space with any more pups. That’s okay though, I promise I’m still a loving kitty! My dream home would have space for two—you and me! So, if you’re looking for a whole bundle of love, I hope you’ll come to meet me. I’d really appreciate a second chance to find a loving home. This time, forever. Come meet me at the shelter located at 720 W. 10th Ave. Denver CO 80204 (we are closed on Tuesdays) or MaxFund.org to see more
Hi! I’m Scout and I’m a female, Blue Heeler/Australian Cattle Dog and Hound mix that was born November 2016 and weigh about 60lbs. I am an extremely lovable girl towards the people at the MaxFund and enjoy every minute I get to spend with them. I am also very intelligent and obedient! I know simple commands and can learn a heck of a lot more if given some more training. I was surrendered to the MaxFund due to not getting along with my Chihuahua siblings. I do get along great with dogs my size or bigger and love playtime with them! Sorry, but kitty cats will be a no can do for me as well. I can come off as timid towards children but would love to meet everyone in the home anyway to see how we all get along. Bring your fur babies too! I’m crate trained, enjoy car rides, and don’t mind being left home alone. I am housebroken but can have some accidents due to urinary incontinence from being spayed at an early age. Come meet me at the shelter located at 720 W. 10th Ave. Denver CO 80204 (we are closed on Tuesdays) or MaxFund.org to see more
Hello, I’m Daphne, a black long haired, declawed girl with beautiful yellow eyes, born in 2008. 🦋 I had a loving owner, who unfortunately became disabled and could no longer care for me. I thought my life was all laid out, but now I find myself in a shelter. I’ve been pretty scared since I got here (I’ve never been in a cage before) so I’m having trouble trusting. I’m getting better though, and I’m starting to realize the people here just want to help me. 🦋 I don’t get much attention from potential adopters. They go for the more outgoing cats. But, I really do have a lot to offer, if given a chance. I enjoy getting treats, and that is probably the best way to break the ice with me. 🦋 Though I’m still very playful, I think I’d like a calm home. I need someone who will understand my past and be patient with me as I adapt to this new life. They say black cats are unlucky, but I’m hoping this black cat will be lucky enough to find a second loving home, this one forever. 🦋 Come meet me at the shelter located at 720 W. 10th Ave. Denver CO 80204 (we are closed on Tuesdays) or MaxFund.org to see more
Hi there! I’m Espo. I am a shepherd mix that’s about 8 years old. Do you like my fluffy red fur?I was brought to the MaxFund after my previous owners brought me and my buddy Frazier to a training facility, and never came back to get us. I am a big guy – but really, I’m a gentle giant! I’ve made the coveted “easy walker” list and the volunteers say I am their favorite to take a walk with. Actually, I should say trot! I have the most adorable trot in the world, which is only cuter when I proudly trot around with a toy in my mouth.I am a lovable guy that is looking for his forever home. Since I came in with my buddy Frazier, I am good with other dogs. I have been in play groups but I’m not too rambunctious and prefer to keep to myself – and did I mention, trot around with my toys? But please bring any other dogs in the home to meet me! So what do you think? Come meet me at the shelter located at 720 W. 10th Ave. Denver CO 80204 (we are closed on Tuesdays) or MaxFund.org to see more
My name is Precious Catalina, and I am a pure white female with stunning green eyes, born in 2011. I was brought to MaxFund over a year ago when my human went into assisted living. After years of being together, I didn’t understand why I came to be in a shelter. Nothing in my life up to that point could have prepared me for this. The people here are very nice and take good care of me, so I’m not complaining, but it sure is different from a loving home. Some cats do okay in a shelter, and they seek out and enjoy the attention of visitors. Unfortunately, I find that I just can’t be myself here. It takes me awhile to warm up to people. I can’t do it in the seconds people spend at my cage. Plus, I’m in a bottom cage, so I’m not sure anyone can even see me. There must be some reason I’ve been here so long without any interest. Given the right amount of time, attention, and freedom, I will be the most adoring, loving, and affectionate cat you’ll ever know. I like treats and LOVE pets, rubs, and scratches! I can only hope that someone will look into my green eyes, and recognize what a special companion I can be. Please come meet me! Come meet me at the shelter located at 720 W. 10th Ave. Denver CO 80204 (we are closed on Tuesdays) or MaxFund.org to see more
Hi! I’m Frank. I’m an 8 year old American Bulldog mix with a sweet face that will surely melt your heart. I ended up at MaxFund after my previous shelter was closed due to a number of failed inspections. Because of that, not a whole lot is known about my past! My volunteer friends will tell you, though, I am a real love bug. I’ve made the coveted “easy walker” list, so everyone wants to walk me and spend time with me! I’m a mellow dude that loves people, but also loves minding my own business on a stroll around the neighborhood. If there are kiddos, other dogs, or other people in the household, please bring them by when you come meet me! Hope to see you soon. Come meet me at the shelter located at 720 W. 10th Ave. Denver CO 80204 (we are closed on Tuesdays) or MaxFund.org to see more
I have a very heroic name, considering my relatively small stature and my tendency to be a bit fearful. However, I am brave at heart and I really want to befriend people. I often greet the human visitors to my room with a welcoming meow. I need to tell you about my meow—it’s very loud. In fact, my previous owners brought me to MaxFund because they were having a baby and thought I’d be too loud around the baby. I wish I could learn to have a quieter voice, but it’s not likely. 🐾 Once comfortable, I love to play with laser lights, wand toys, toy mice and little crinkly balls. I also enjoy an occasional cat treat. I used to live with other cats, but I may be happier as an only cat. Ideally I need a home without little kids. The less stressful the environment, the better! 🐾 Come meet me at the shelter located at 720 W. 10th Ave. Denver CO 80204 (we are closed on Tuesdays) or MaxFund.org to see more
Hi there! I’m Grey. I’m a beautiful, 3 year old female Rottweiler mix. I made my way to MaxFund after my shelter closed down due to a number of failed inspections. But I’m not sad – in fact I feel lucky to be here! I am a volunteer favorite because I have the best smile and am an easy pup to take a nice stroll with. I turn into all wiggles when I know it’s my turn to go for a walk. I know basic commands, but would love to learn more with you! I am still a young girl with lots of love to give & a huge potential to grow into a perfect canine citizen. If you want to learn more about me, or meet me in person, come by the shelter today! I am sure you will find me irresistible to love, too. Come meet me at the shelter located at 720 W. 10th Ave. Denver CO 80204 (we are closed on Tuesdays) or MaxFund.org to see more
Hi, I’m Toffee! When the volunteers give me treats, I get very excited! I’ve been known to jump off my shelf and follow them around to see if I can charm them out of more! Some torties have a reputation for having a feisty attitude, but that’s not the case with me. Another thing you’ll notice about me is that I am very photogenic, and don’t mind having my picture taken. Want a cute addition to your selfies? I’m your girl! Want a pretty cat with a pleasant personality to be a loving companion? I’m your girl. 🌼 Come meet me at the shelter located at 720 W. 10th Ave. Denver CO 80204 (we are closed on Tuesdays) or MaxFund.org to see more
My name is Stillwater and I am an adorable, 1-year-old boy. I found myself at the MaxFund after taking a long car ride from a high kill shelter in Oklahoma. I am excited to grow up in and explore Colorado with a loving forever home. I’m a super curious boy that gets into things I’m not supposed to. I have ingested items that have gotten me sick and have ended in multiple surgeries to get these items out of my belly. It’s a puppy thing that has stuck with me and I will need some good training to break me out of this bad habit. I love to run and play with dogs of all ages and sizes. I’m good with children too! If you do have four-legged babies in the home or other humans, I would love to meet them! I am house broken, and crate trained. It would actually be suggested that I be kept in a crate while you’re out and about. Don’t worry, I won’t mind it as long as you’re not gone for too long. Indestructible Kongs with peanut butter will keep me busy and happy. Come meet me at the shelter located at 720 W. 10th Ave. Denver CO 80204 (we are closed on Tuesdays) or MaxFund.org to see more
I had a home where I was happy, until my family got a new dog. We didn’t get along, so they relinquished me to MaxFund. I’ve been pretty sad, but the nice people here are giving me plenty of attention, and I am starting to warm up to them. But, to be honest, I’m not adjusting to the shelter as well as they’d like, and they are worried about me. I’m still a young girl, and love to play. My favorite game is probably chasing the laser dot. I just can’t resist it! I also love treats, and soft and gentle pets. I spend a lot of my day in a cardboard box, where I feel comfortable and safe. I get along with the calm, polite cats here, and I avoid the aggressive ones. If you come to meet me (and I hope you do!) you’ll have to seek me out. I’m not as outgoing as some of the other cats, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want a home! I dream every day that someone will come along who thinks I’m special. I promise I’ll be the best friend you ever had. Hello! I’m Jelly Bean and I’m as sweet as one too! I’m a very optimistic 6-year-old, female with a gorgeous cream and white coat. I was surrendered to a Pueblo shelter that actually ended up shutting down due to a number of failed inspections. After that, the MaxFund took me into their arms along with 54 other dogs and 25 cats. You may have noticed that the side of my head is a bit misshaped. Sadly, I was abused and hit by a bat. Despite my very harsh past, I am the happiest lady you will meet. I have an amazing attitude and always keep a huge smile on my face. I’ve been through quite the journey and cannot wait for you to join me and be my forever companion. I’m very playful and a great walker. I’m a relaxed girl that promises to not give you a hard time. All I’m asking for is for lots and lots of love! What do you think? Think we’ll make a good fit? Me too! Please come on by and let’s spend some time together! Shelter located at 720 W. 10th Ave. Denver Co 80204 (we are closed on Tuesdays) or MaxFund.org to see more.
I never imagined when I arrived at MaxFund, that I would still be here over two years later. But, this is the fate of cats who are shy and don’t engage with potential adopters like the friendlier cats. The good news is that I have been making great progress lately! After a long time in a cage, I am now free to roam around my room. The volunteers have been working hard with me and seeing results, as I now allow pets and more attention. I especially love treats. Like most of my fellow shy cats, my true personality has not come out in the shelter, but I know in my own home, I would blossom into the truly wonderful cat that I am. Let’s see, what would my dream home look like? I’d like to live with someone patient and loving, who would give me the time I need to come out of my shell. A sunny window I could sit in and watch the birds would be extra nice! If I sound like your forever kitty, I hope you’ll come and seek me out. Hi there! I’m Nadia and I’m a 6-year-old girl that weighs approximately 50lbs. I was transferred to the MaxFund from New Mexico in hopes of finding a forever home. I’m a really happy, silly and sweet pup. You will always find me with a smile on my face. I’m super friendly and love greeting just about everyone. I’m also well-behaved that’s potty trained and crate trained. I’m a strong walker so the harness is great for me. Apart from loving humans, I love other dogs too! Sorry, but kitties are a no go for me. I’m proud to say that I’m a favorite among the volunteers! I came in with an old fracture that healed by itself. Because it did not heal correctly, I walk with a limp. This tends to give me pain, so I am on medication at the moment and will very likely be on medication for the rest of my life. I’m an optimistic pup that wants to join life to the fullest with a loving human by my side. Spend some time with me and you’ll see how much love I have to give! Hello, I’m Allspice, a quiet senior lady, born in 2006. I’ve been told that I’m quite pretty, with my mostly white fur adorned with calico patches of gray, brown and orange–which is what the spice I’m named after smells like! I was pretty timid when I first arrived, but I now love the attention of the volunteers. Ear scratches are definitely my favorite. They’ll even make me purr! I’ve started opening up enough to play, and have revealed my kitten side! I’m looking for a quiet, loving forever home where I can feel confident again. I know that with the right amount of love (just like the right amount of spice) I’ll bring you warmth and love for all of my life. If you rescue me, I’ll rescue you right back! I am also eligible to be fostered! Shelter located at 720 W. 10th Ave. Denver Co 80204 (we are closed on Tuesdays) or MaxFund.org to see more.
I’m Olga and I came to the MaxFund as a stray. I’m a beautiful, tan doll at just 3-years-old and I weigh 7lbs. It’s hard to say what a stray like me has been through. I can come off timid and need humans that are meeting me to go slow with me. But not to worry, I come out of my shell pretty fast. I can tell you that I’m used to hanging out with other dogs. So, if you’re looking for a little sister for your own fur baby, I’m all up for it! I do ask that you bring in any dogs living in the home to make sure everyone gets along. I don’t mind children either! As long as they’re gentle with me, there should be no problem. I’m quite the snuggle bug and adore being loved on. Meet Special Kittens, Weeble and Wobble! MaxFund is committed to giving every dog and cat a chance at the best life they can have. In the case of these two kittens, born with Cerebellar Hypoplasia, that means providing physical therapy to help them reach their highest level of functioning. Dr Erin Davezac and Sonya Bailgildin created the body support system you see in the photos. Staff and volunteers are receiving training to assist with their physical therapy. Its important to understand that these kittens are not in pain. They can live a long life! Shelter located at 720 W. 10th Ave. Denver Co 80204 (we are closed on Tuesdays) or MaxFund.org to see more.
My name is Bert, and I am a very handsome shepherd mix with a midnight black coat, big brown eyes a floppy quirky ear and a smile that really stands out. I love the outdoors. I can be reserved when you first meet me but I can tell you once I get to know you I will give you kisses and tail wags. I am looking for a forever or foster home. Please come meet me, take me for a walk and see if you think we can be lifelong companions. Shelter located at 720 W. 10th Ave. Denver Co 80204 (we are closed on Tuesdays) or MaxFund.org to see more.
My name is Precious Catalina, and I am a pure white female with stunning green eyes, born in 2011. I was brought to MaxFund in May 2018 when my human went to assisted living. After years of being together, I didn’t understand why I came to be in a shelter. Nothing in my life up to that point could have prepared me for this. The people here are very nice and take good care of me, so I’m not complaining, but it sure is different from being in a loving home. Some cats do okay in a shelter, and they seek out and enjoy the attention of visitors. Unfortunately, I find that I just can’t be myself here. It takes me awhile to warm up to people. I can’t do it in the seconds people spend at my cage. But, given the right combination of time, attention and freedom, I will be the most adoring, loving, affectionate cat you’ll ever know. I like treats and LOVE pets, rubs and scratches! Come meet me at the shelter located at 720 W. 10th Ave. Denver CO 80204 (we are closed on Tuesdays) or MaxFund.org to see more
Hello! I’m Sweetie and I’m a deaf, 1-year-old Dalmatian/American Bulldog mix. I was surrendered to the MaxFund because my owner found out I was pregnant and could not give me all the care and time I needed. I was brought in late December and have been waiting patiently to go up for adoption and meet you lovely humans. I spent the last 2 months taking care of my babies and am ready to go to my forever home. Just like my name says, I’m quite the sweetheart! I absolutely love all the humans and pups here at the shelter. If you’re looking for a loving girl to add to your life, look no further. I would absolutely love to meet your family members; 2-legged ones and the 4-legged ones too! Come meet me at the shelter located at 720 W. 10th Ave. Denver Co 80204 (we are closed on Tuesdays) or MaxFund.org to see more.
My name is Ginger! I’m a flame point ragdoll, born in 2013. I had a nice home once, but my family moved and didn’t take me with them. I’m sure they thought a pretty girl like me would get adopted right away, but that was almost three years ago, and I’m still here. That’s half my life. I dream about finding my forever home every day. I have a big personality, so ideally would love to be the only pet. I promise to brighten each of your days with my boundless fluff and adorable feline antics! Looking for the next social media star? I’m your girl! Looking for a sweet companion to share your life with? I’m your girl. Come meet me at the shelter located at 720 W. 10th Ave. Denver Co 80204 (we are closed on Tuesdays) or MaxFund.org to see more.
