Think it was bad when your boss made you stay late? THIS is a nightmare!
Astronauts Barry Wilmore and Sunita Williams, who have been stranded in space since June 5 due to issues with Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft, may return to Earth in February 2025 on SpaceX’s Crew Dragon if the Starliner remains unsafe. The original mission was for 8 DAYS!
The Starliner encountered problems near the International Space Station, leading to leaks and thruster malfunctions.
Nasa is considering alternative options for the astronauts’ return, including attaching them to a mission launching in September. If the Crew Dragon plan is implemented, Wilmore and Williams could spend over eight months at the ISS before returning to Earth under computer control.
Earlier this week, Nasa used a SpaceX rocket to deliver more food and supplies to the ISS, including extra clothes for the two astronauts. Final decision on return plan expected to take a week or more.
WOW!!
