NEW YORK, NEW YORK – JANUARY 03: An L train station stands in the popular Brooklyn neighborhood of Williamsburg on January 03, 2019 in New York City. In a relief to L train customers, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo today announced that the L train tunnel between Manhattan and Brooklyn won’t be completely closed for 15th months starting April 27th but will instead offer modified service. The partial closing is needed to repair damage from Hurricane Sandy in 2012, when the tunnel between Manhattan and Brooklyn was submerged by floodwaters. (Photo by Spencer Platt/Getty Images)
