Significant delays at Denver’s airport: What you need to know.
Over 600 flights were delayed at Denver International Airport on Tuesday afternoon as storms passed through the metro area.
The Federal Aviation Administration reported that DIA was on a ground delay, with an average delay of 51 minutes due to thunderstorms.
As of 5:30 p.m., DIA had 686 delays and 11 cancellations. The majority of the delays were on the airports two biggest carriers, Southwest Airlines (259) and United Airlines (223) flights, according to FlightAware.
