Rural Colorado communities experiencing increased demand for food

In rural Colorado communities like Falcon, Matthison, Rush, and Ellicot, the demand for aid at the Eastern Plains Community Pantry has significantly increased, with over 1200 people receiving food assistance each month. The pantry has also seen a rise in the number of seniors seeking help, facing tough choices between buying food or prescriptions.
Factors like rising grocery costs, housing expenses, and stagnant wages contribute to the growing need for assistance. I know we are all about community in Colorado and our rural neighbors need our help.
The pantry is seeking donations to provide more fresh produce and support families in need. As Father’s Day approaches, consider celebrating fishing fathers with thoughtful gifts to show appreciation.
