“Sorry so late!! It’s been a long strange trip,” is what the note attached to an overdue library book said. The book titled, “Psychedelics” by Bernard Aaronson and Humphry Osmond was returned to a library in Weld County, Colorado 37 years late!
The book was due back in May of 1987. 37 years later.
When the book was checked out…movies like, “The Lost Boys” and “Dirty Dancing” and “Good Morning Vietnam” were top of the box office. Whitney Houston and George Straight were reigning on the music charts and everyone “Walked Like An Egyptian”.
Whoever the longtime Colorado resident is, is very funny and we like their sense of humor. We also know that whomever wrote the note…37 years later probably has a “Touch of Grey.” Haha.
Do you have old library books or VHS tapes that need to be returned somewhere?
See the library’s Facebook post here.
