Denver, CO — According to 9News and its viewers, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation is Colorado’s favorite Christmas movie.  The cool part is much of that movie was shot here in Colorado.  Then Summit County Elks Lodge in Silverthorne became the production’s commissary.  The tree cutting scene happened near the Breckenridge Golf Course near Tiger Road. The sledding scene was filmed at Breckenridge Ski Area’s Peak 8.

Clark’s sled eventually ends up in a Toys for Tots bin in front of the Walmart in Frisco. Next time you watch Christmas Vacation look for those scenes Summit county.
