Well let me be the first to say that you look great today. Are you doing something different with your hair?
Today is National Compliment Day and it’s a chance to brighten someone’s day or to give credit for a job well done!
Give an extra compliment today. Or for some of you, the first compliment you are giving of the new year.
There have been a bunch of different surveys done over the years regarding compliments. Who we like to hear them from, who we feel they are genuine from, and our favorite overall compliments.
Here are some of the findings:
60% of women over 35 say telling them they look young is the biggest compliment they can receive.
81% of women say a compliment from another woman means more to them than a compliment from a man
88% of women say their self-confidence grows when they receive a compliment
44% of men say they don’t always know how to give a compliment
58% of people have a hard time receiving a compliment
81% of singles say receiving a compliment from a potential partner makes them more interested in that person
53% of women believe it’s important to pay someone a compliment
17% of women say complimenting them makes their day
45% of women compliment others because it boosts their own self-esteem
21% of women feel uncomfortable when complimented
27% of people don’t believe compliments
I was told once that I complimented people too much. I stopped doing that. It did feel fake now that I look back. Too many compliments seems fake.
