Denver, CO- Madonna has a reputation for starting her concerts late. Fans in New York aren’t just unhappy about it, they’re now suing Madge and concert promoter, Live Nation.
The lawsuit stems from her three shows in Brooklyn at Barclays Events Center and the fact that tickets said the show started at 8:30pm, when in reality she didn’t take the stage until 10:30pm. The lawsuit claims false advertising and negligent misrepresentation.
The plaintiffs claim that most people didn’t leave the venue until after 1am and that there were few public transportation options available at that time. The lawsuit also talks about hardships from such a late start and having to get up early for work.
The shows in question were in Brooklyn December 13, 14 and 16 of last year. This was the beginning of the North American leg of Madonna’s “Celebration Tour.”
So far Madonna and Live Nation have not yet commented on the lawsuit.
