An international tech outage is effecting airlines, airports, banks, government offices and just about every business in one way or another. Many companies have been left with a blue screen and have been unable to reboot or get their information online. Cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike, said that the issue believed to be behind the outage was not a security incident or cyberattack but a software update glitch.
Here in the Denver area reports of banks having issues, Denver International Airport and the DMV have all been effected. In fact DIA had a ground stop earlier today. Because of the cyber security software meltdown, several international airlines were still on a ground stop this morning.
As of Friday morning, the Colorado Department of Motor Vehicle’s said that the following services have been impacted:
- Online DMV services
- MV express kiosks
- Driver license and identification card services at state and county driver’s license offices
- County motor vehicle office services
- DMV call centers
RTD has also said and posted on their website that the global outage is effecting their services as well on Friday.
As for now if you’re flying out today, check ahead many airlines are still experiencing delays.
