The Wall Street Journal says an increasing number of Gen Z music lovers (born between 1997 and 2012) have been buying cassette tapes of their favorite artists. However, many of them have been confused about how to play the tapes.
26 year-old Amy Campbell recently borrowed her mom’s cassette player after purchasing a Kacey Musgraves tape, but couldn’t figure out how to use it. She says, “I struggled a little bit. You have to keep fast-forwarding, rewinding, pausing and playing to find the right song you want.”
Not everyone has a cool moms who kept their vintage Walkman.
Molly Clark’s 13-year-old daughter bought an Aurora cassette but couldn’t play it, forcing Clark, 45, to buy a player on eBay. Some of the good ones are pretty expensive!
“It makes me smile whenever I see it because it just takes me back to when I was a kid,” Clark told The Journal.
I might have to go and check my mom’s crawl space. Make some money!! XO Jenny
