Growing up I would have LOVED to do this!! Now the next generation can! Denver’s Stapleton International Airport, which closed in 1995, has been transformed into the Central Park neighborhood. The airport’s control tower, which has remained vacant for 20 years, has now been opened to the public for climbing tours. The tower offers a 360-degree view of the surrounding neighborhood and the Denver skyline against the Rocky Mountains. FlyteCO Brewing, an aviation-themed brewpub and entertainment center, has taken over the space and offers food, entertainment, and tours of the tower. The company hopes to make the tower regularly available to the public in the future.
