Campbell Soup is changing its name

I blame Goldfish!! Although both are delicious!
Campbell Soup is planning to drop the “Soup,” and call themselves “The Campbell’s Company.” The CEO said, “We’re so much more than soup.” They own a bunch of other brands, including Goldfish snacks.
The idea is that they have a whole bunch of brands and products now, like Pepperidge Farm breads, crackers, and cookies . . . Pace salsa . . . Prego and Rao’s sauces . . . Snyder’s pretzels . . . and Kettle potato chips.
So they’d like to use the Campbell’s name across more of that, to expand the company’s umbrella beyond just “soup.”
Don’t worry if you’re a fan of the classics. Soup is still a very important and valuable part of their business . . . so they definitely aren’t phasing it out.
To be clear, the name change isn’t official yet. Campbell Soup is a public company, so the re-brand will have to be approved by shareholders.
