Following the box-office success and critical acclaim of last year’s “Barbie” film, AEG Presents Rocky Mountains announced a Denver stop for “Barbie the Movie: In Concert.”

The 8 p.m., all-ages show on Wednesday, July 17, show at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre will feature Macy Schmidt and the Barbie Land Sinfoinietta, promoters wrote, as part of the production’s summer North American tour.

Tickets are on sale starting at 10 a.m. Friday, March 15, via axs.com. They’ll cost $25-$99.50, not including service charges.

The show is billed as a “live-to-film concert experience,” with the Barbie movie projected onto a giant LED screen above the orchestra as the musicians play the film’s Grammy-winning score.

The Barbie Land Sinfonietta, an all-women and majority women-of-color orchestra, will perform the score, conducted by Macy Schmidt.

“We can’t wait for fans of all ages to join us in this immersive experience, celebrating the biggest movie of 2023 and bringing the magic of Barbie to life like never before,” said Josh Silverman, chief franchise officer at Mattel.

“The incredible talents of Macy Schmidt and the Barbie Land Sinfonietta guarantee an unparalleled and unforgettable adventure,”  he said.

Schmidt is a Tony Award-winning producer who recently became the first woman of color orchestrator in Broadway history, the release states.

“Music lends so much heart and excitement to the Barbie film; between the stunning and clever orchestral score and the upbeat iconic pop soundtrack, music is carrying us through the story,” Schmidt said.

“… I have long been inspired by Barbie’s purpose statement: ‘to inspire the limitless potential in every girl.’ It couldn’t be more aligned to have an all-women orchestra performing this film, bringing its message to life onstage,” she said.

The “Barbie” movie, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling and directed by Greta Gerwig, was released on July 21, 2023. It was the top grossing movie of 2023, earning more than $1.4 billion worldwide, and has been nominated for an Oscar award as Best Picture.
