Colorado’s mountains offer some of the most beautiful hikes one could dream of, but with the hot summer heat here now, hikers might be looking for a trail with some kind of cooling attraction. How about some nice cool mist from a waterfall to keep you cool while you enjoy the view. Here are 5 of the best waterfalls to check out.
Boulder Falls-Boulder:…It’s not exactly a hike, just a short and easy walk to get to the falls. It’s close and convenient. It’s about 11 miles west of Boulder. There is not a trailhead for this destination you can use the parking area across highway 119/Boulder Canyon Drive
Seven Falls..Colorado Springs:….According to the Broadmore Seven Falls website, you can walk just under a mile along a paved road to reach the falls, which is sometimes referred to as the “Grandest Mile of Scenery in Colorado.” There is a cost to get into the park.
Continental Falls..Breckenridge:..This one is a bit of a hike. There is a 6 mile loop trail takes about 3 hours to complete but worth the effort. The falls is part of that trail so you can cut it short from the whole trail.
Ouzel Falls…Estes Park:..This falls is inside Rocky Mountain National Park. Visitors must have a reservation to enter the park. You take the Wild Basin Trail about 5 miles. Along the way you will see and hear the North Saint Vrain Creek…all beautiful
Horsetooth Falls…Fort Collins:.. The trail is about 3 miles, this hike can be shortened by just going to the falls and back the same way you came.
STAY COOL!…take in a beautiful waterfall
