Colorado State Patrol can stop fleeing cars in their tracks now

Cars trying to flee from Colorado State Patrol won’t be able to outrun them after the 24 Grappler gets ahold of their car. Amazing video provided by CSP in Colorado Springs shows the successful forced traffic stops of vehicles.

The new technology drops a heavy nylon net from a platform on the front of the patrol car. The net gets caught in the back tire of the fleeing car and is quickly stopped with extra police backup.

CSP said in a news release, “The Colorado State Patrol has had approximately 75 successful uses of the Grappler since August 2021.”

The three vehicles featured shows exactly how successful the technique is and how dumbfounded the criminals must be when it happens.

Read more from CSP about their 24 Grappler and how it tethers to fleeing cars.
